Description

A small extension to vibrate the device without using a specific pattern for Android, iOS and HTML5.

Notes:

Remember to do a build for the Extension to work! (Create Application)

  • iPod and iPad do not support vibration, only iPhone
  • Latest iOS devices need vibration setting to be turned on, on the device, you can no longer force it, apps must respect the setting (Apple Guidelines)
  • HTML5 should work under iPhone and Firefox Mobile (more mobile browsers are adopting vibration in the future)

Works great for my needs.

But it seems to be broken for android 8 and 9. This might be due to a change in the vibrate method.

It works

But could have the option of vibration strength. It's very strong, it looks like my cell phone will explode lol

It was working...

It was working on iPhone, but a few weeks later the is_supported() function returns false on iPhone SE (and other devices).

Even calling vibrate() without checking if it's supported doesn't work.

Will update review when fixed

excelent

work fine in android, The only bad thing is that it does not allow to regulate the intensity of the vibration. Only the time of the vibration

Works Perfect on Android but...

The extension is very simple to use (there's only 2 functions) I tried on Android everything works just fine, But I thing it needs update so it can work properly on iOS.

I Tested it on an iPhone 5S & iPhone 6 and it did not work... Maybe is a bug and "ex_patch_device_vibration_supported()" function is always returning false but I'm not sure about that.

*** Please check on that Alexander, because vibration for iOS was the Main reason I bough your extension.

IDEA:
Will be more than great if you can Add a vibration strength function.

NOTE:
Seller did not reply, I will put 5 stars when seller fix the problem.

Hello,

I don't own any of the latest devices, but I did some changes to the code using the newer recommended API function.
ex_patch_device_vibration_supported() is done per device type on iOS with GML (since there's no native API to check the capability), so it *should* work fine.
Also make sure vibration is turned on, on the device, latest iOS devices need that "on" for vibration to work.
Please test it out and let me know if it works for you. Thanks.

Doesn't work

It says "Vibration not supported on this target" even though I'm using an iPhone 5s

Great

Works great on Android, but running on iOS throws this compile error:
/Users/myname/GameMaker-Studio/GameName/GameName/GameName/Game/iOSSource/deviceVibrate.mm:1:9: fatal error: 'exPatchDeviceVibrate.h' file not found
#import "exPatchDeviceVibrate.h"

EDIT: fixed it by renaming GameName.gmx\extensions\exPatchDeviceVibrate\iOSSource\deviceVibrate.h
to exPatchDeviceVibrate.h
