This RTS Engine is very similar to Warcraft 1 and 2, but it also has some newer features like being able to create control groups and attack move.

  • Create control groups for units (0-9)
  • Attack move(attack the first enemy in a direction)
  • Finite state machine (Idle, Attack, Move, Idle Attack, etc.)
  • Fog of war
  • Mini-map
  • Advanced pathfinding
  • Footman, Archer, Priest, Knight, Rescuable Units
  • Priests can heal, and inspire units
  • Healing fountain and towers
  • Trees, water, and dirt auto tiling


Make sure you create a constant variable called GRID_SIZE and set it equal to 64. You can do this by going to Macros and double-clicking on Default.

Works like a charm

Alone for creating this warcraft 1/ 2 feel you deserve a five stars rating. Played the demo and imported it to GMS2, only had to move room0 a little lower that it starts with rm_menu. The sprites, pathfinding and missions are really a superb starting point for making an rts game, good job.
