A fully functional 2D rpg grass engine for GM2, which can be customized to your liking.

Features: 1. Change grass spawn area. Square or Circle. 2. Change number of grass objects to spawn in custom area. 3. Interact with moving objects. 4. Real time FPS. 5. Render grass at a distance in real time, to reduce processing power, and increase FPS. 6. Grass is set into state machines for increased FPS.

Please note that the asset in the current state V0.5 is still in development and will require a substantial amount of processing power to fully utilize. That being said, optimization is still an ongoing process.

Recommended Specs: 3.2 GHz processor. 8 GB of RAM.

Lag Grass

There's a reason the preview only shows a couple tiny squares of grass. When you try to make slightly larger squares with anymore than a few hundred blades of grass, or make more than a handful of the same small squares, the fps drops to single digits. Here's a video showing the madness:

I contacted the publisher, hopefully he'll respond either to me or to this review.

Hi, yes I am aware of the low frame rate when going above a certain amount of objects, that was due to collisions running constantly. Update V0.5 will have addressed most of these issues, that being said, GM requires a lot of processing power when rendering a lot of objects with each running their own code. Using small amounts of rendered objects is ideally the best solution.
