Works, but needs some modifications...

I can assure anyone who believes that this may be a joke, that it is not. This engine is a conversion of Forevka's old Minecraft Engine created in GameMaker 8.x. Due to changes in the GameMaker engine, it does not work correctly out of the box. To anyone getting compilation errors, you need to fix every "for" loop by replacing the spaces with semicolons. The engine should compile now, however there will be no trees or houses. To fix this you need to uncheck "Display Splash Screen" inside "Global Game Settings > Windows." Then, simply implement the "tree" fix created by "Glen S" somewhere on this review page. The engine should function, but with a few problems. There is lag when the cursor is out of bounds. (most likely caused by the mass of "out of bounds writing" errors) When colliding with the blocks at certain angles, it teleports the player on top of that block. I have contacted Forevka and have brought these problems to his attention. Hopefully, we can get these problems fixed!

Only shows a blue screen!

It runs fine, but once it starts, it only shows a light blue, no blocks, no house, no trees, or anything else!

This is terrible.

10%+ of the things imported were named the same thing as other ones, so that changed it to not work.

Please fix this unless this was just a joke and you are trolling us :P.

Good to tinker with

The new version still didn't work for me until I changed the following code in the World_create event.

// creates 10 trees
tree=create_block_model(spr_tree)
repeat(10)
{
x=random(64)
y=random(64)
Z=get_max_z(x,y)
add_model_to_world(tree,x,y,Z)
}

Now trees spawn randomly... this will get it working. And it runs fine.
I tinkered with this for 10mins with moderate knowledge, and am now going to dive into it and see what happens.
Thank you Forevka, this looks like a lot of fun! :D

Solid demo after a bugfix

I too had the error others were seeing, but changing
Z=get_max_z(X+2,Y+2)+1
to
Z=get_max_z(X+2,Y+2)
fixed it for me, at least enough to get the game working (whether or not it was expected behavior).

The demo itself is well done, with collision, movement, adding and removing of blocks.
I pressed F1 as it said to do, but nothing happened, so I checked the code for other features.
I've only spent a little time with it, but couldn't figure out how to choose the block I was putting down (just random as far as I could tell).

Overall a solid start that could use a little more polish, which is why I gave it 4 out of 5.

In the obj_world create event change Z=get_max_z(X+2,Y+2) to this Z=get_max_z(X+2, Y+2)
