Simple character customization is an easy to understand character customization code to change aesthetics and weapon components of an RPG style character. But you can use it in every game genre you wish by simply changing and updating its sprites.


  • Now available in Game Maker Studio 2!
  • New sprites specifically created for this asset. You can use the completely free on your own.
  • Fully comented code and a quick start info in obj_game Create Event.
  • Simple selector menus and buttons that allow user to change character gender and body, head, hands, feet and weapon elements.
  • Five original customization presets based on a Priest, Mage, Rogue, Knight and Warrior characters.
  • Save and load options to keep your configuration in a simple INI file (save_char.ini) like this:



It works for Windows, MacOS, HTML5 and mobile devices. Haven't tested Tizen or Linux but sould worke as well I suppose.

Its very easy to understand, however I wanted to know how to then have animations for the custom character, like run, attack, etc. and unfortunately this does not have that. It would be very cool if the Publisher could expand on this a little. Very Polished though and it is still very helpful.
