Image to Level generates a room from a sprite (whether in-game or loaded asynchronously). It's simple to set up and even simpler to use. Each color in a sprite represents a different Game Maker: Studio object. The program runs through all the entire sprite, pixel by pixel, and spawns objects as necessary.

Why would anyone want to create levels via sprites?

  • It's organized; there's no need to deal with many rooms.

  • It allow players to import custom levels with ease.

Only three scripts and one object are necessary to get started!

The code is very neat and heavily commentated.

Pretty good asset, well commented, useful.

Pretty good way to save resources and save time on a game, well commented and useful, just one thing, I can't figured out how to load an image/sprite externally so a player can make their own levels. I've tried with sprite_add but doesn't work, I really don't have idea to make it ( I'm noob :-) ), if anyone knows how to achieve it, please help me.

Good asset.

Exactly what i was looking for. Every line is commented, easy to understand code. Yet, it could work faster.

What is the issue?
