This is a simple text adventure template for Game Maker Studio 2. I've worked on this for about a week, and it has a few key features that I thought people interested in making text adventures within GMS2 would be interested in.
I intend on this being an ongoing project, with updates and changes made by users to help people work with the template and use it to the best of their abilities and work with the software they prefer to make the games they want. This will also support me in my endeavors to make my own game, which I am presently working on.
FEATURES: Easy to navigate and use UI template. Complete working Save/Load system. Working 1-dimensional array for inventory. Short example of character creation. Fully commented code, with tips, suggestions, and notes. Brief explanations of the test game so that you can read along with how thing work as you test the initial code before making your own changes.
These will be changed and edited in future updates, if need be. I will be watching my feedback and comments for suggestions for updates. So if you have any, please be sure to leave them here!

Thank you for the great review! Ease of use was definitely what I wanted push for, so I'm glad to see it was achieved. I hope you enjoy using it and make something great with this simple text tutorial!
Good old 80s gamebooks vibes here!
This simple template show up how we can build a story-driven narrative adventure.
It has all the main elements to be a great template.
The code is commented enough to understand what it does, and the retro old-style GUI fits so well for the aim.
I don't know how complex the story could be and how is handled, but this is a great starting point.
Event the project is as-is (I mean, it can be considered already finished), I hope in a continue development and in new features to create something of a lil complex and immersive.
This is great stuff to me! ;)
Thanks for the review! Glad to hear you like the template and happy I could help you on your way to making something you enjoy!
