Allows you to draw text with an automatic outline. Arguments let you define the standard stuff (x and y coordinates, string) as well as the outline colour, outline thickness, and outline fidelity (accuracy - performance vs looks). Other aspects of the text - alignment, text fill colour etc, are treated as normal.

Simple and effective
Makes what can be a complicated issue really simple. The performance hit when using the highest fidelity is large, but it is a small price to pay for simplicity.
The best extension eveeer
So easy... And works!
Please update for GM2
This is one of the best tools for GM1, Please update it :)
Works Well, Except for Transparency
Worked really well for me, but wasn't responding to "draw_set_alpha" commands in my experience.
The best one.
The most robust text outline script
Iv'e made my own versions before, but nothing compared to this one, allowing you to change quality, and thickness from the script call, it's excellent.
Works greate m8 i r8 8/8 (catually 5/5) ;)
Works like a charm. Thanks man.
Nice one. Just one script and that is it.
Can be pretty performance-hitting if you over-use it, since it effectively just draws your text a bunch. But it does what it says, and is easy to expand in case you want to do something like draw_text_outline_transformed
Should be standard in GMS standard
consider adding extra scripts like draw_text_ext()
I've made my own from yours, to input font color as argument also.
Just what I was looking for, but how would you go about adding an image_alpha argument to the script?
Exceptionally clean code. Easy to use and time saving for simple and clean text fx.
It saves a lot of time for workflow.
Can you add so that you can scale the text?
Easy to use
Got this up and running in a few minutes. Great tool for GMS! NAL does it again...
It's simple to use, and is exactly what everyone needs for pretty much everything. It looks good and runs cleanly without affecting performance.
I used to design UI text in Photoshop or Illustrator and then export as images to preserve the stroke outlines. Finally, finally, finally, I can program the text right into my games because of this.
Well though out, works nicely, looks even nicer.
It's great NAL. Thanks for making it.
Nothing to say, it's simple, easy to use and works like a charm. You need that one!
