Adding a retro theme to your game is now easy with this collection of three GLSL pixel shaders.

Perfect for use for your entire game, as part of a title screen, or even as a special in-game 'retro mode' level!

CRT Shader

Apply a truly 'retro' look and feel to your game!

  • Horizontal scan lines.
  • 'Pinching' around the screen corners.
  • (Optional) Scrolling 'electron beam' effect travelling down the screen.
  • (Optional) Green monochrome tint (Calculated from pixel luminosity).

Downsampling Shader

  • Apply pixellation to your screen (Customizable).
  • Downsample the color palette to apply an 16-bit look (Customizable).

LCD Shader

  • Apply an RGB/RGB/RGB/... split-column effect to mimic the appearance of old TVs and monitors.

...or combine the shaders in any order you chose.

Looks good

Looks good, doesn't fit my game which is a portrait iOS game--hoping they will reply back to me soon and tell me how to do that.

nice shaders

Nice shaders. But, i'd like to use the scanlines for a project of mine. Unfortunately, when I use the crt shader with views it doesn't work at all. I'm not really sure where i'm going wrong here :/ I think it's pretty hard for someone not used to shaders to implement this.
